Hunt the Southern Alps with Tony Barber

Small, personally guided trophy hunts for Red Stag, Tahr, Chamois, and Fallow Buck across New Zealand's South Island.

Every trip I run is small and built around what you actually want — real Kiwi hospitality, no two days the same. I lead every hunt personally, backed by a small team of guides I trust completely.

The hunts

Four species, one stretch of the Southern Alps. Pick what you're after, or tell me and I'll help you decide.

Meet Tony

Born and raised in the New Zealand outdoors, I've spent my life hunting, fishing, and farming — here and in North America. I know this country's ridges, rivers, and wind patterns because I grew up reading them, not because I studied a map. I guide every hunt myself, and by the end of it you're not just a client, you're a friend.

Lodge & Country

Quartz Hill Station sits in Windwhistle, out in Canterbury high country — this is home base for the hunt, and it's as much a part of the trip as the hunting itself. Private accommodation, good food, and a country that doesn't look like anywhere else you've hunted.
